Cosmetic Bonding

The Procedure

Dr. Santone begins preparing the tooth for bonding by applying a specialized cleaning agent to the affected area. A strong bonding agent is applied to the tooth so the tooth colored filling material will adhere to the tooth. The tooth colored material is layered and cosmetically sculpted on the tooth, replacing the missing layers of tooth structure (the enamel and dentin). A laser or LED light, (or bright blue light) is then used to cure or harden the tooth colored material. During the final step, Dr. Santone will shaped and polish the tooth to match the surrounding teeth. The bonded tooth will looks and functions exactly like a natural tooth restoring a healthy glow to our patients’ smiles.
